Throughout the year, the Student Council sponsors various activities for charitable causes. Through the leadership and initiative of the VMS Student Council, we've helped members of the community in times of tremendous need. Some people that have benefited from our fundraisers are those affected by Hurricane Katrina, the earthquake in Haiti, and disastrous tornadoes in the Midwest.
Historically, our "biggest" charitable event is our Annual Food Drive, which is held in mid-November each year. The items collected are donated to needy families in our area.
The student council also sells water during the annual Walk-A-Thon to benefit various charities and organizations. This year, we raised about $300 for the Animal Orphanage.
