    Unit Two: The Journey

         Much of the human identity is dictated by happiness; however, each individual’s pursuit of happiness varies as values and beliefs differ across the many realms of the human spirit. As the individual’s quest for happiness is attained, heroic characteristics become increasingly evident. Society views heroes in different lights based on personal experiences, relationships, and values.

     

    Essential Questions for this unit: **
    1) Why does happiness seem to be elusive for so many people?
    2) What does our society view as heroic?
    3) How can life experience(s) define a person's identity?
    4) Why do people make sacrifices?
