    Editing is when you search for what needs fixing.

    What to check for:

    spelling

    capitalization

    punctuation
    grammar
    sentence structure
    subject/verb agreement
    consistent verb tense
    word usage

    • Don't edit your writing until the other steps of the writing process are done.

    • During the editing step of the writing process,  you can use proofreading marks for making corrections.
