    6th and 7th Grade - Digital Citizenship

    The Digital Citizenship course is designed to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to navigate the digital world in a responsible and ethical manner. As technology continues to shape our personal and professional lives, it is important for students to understand the impact of their actions online and the potential consequences of their digital behavior.

    Throughout the course, students will explore topics such as online privacy, cyberbullying, digital footprints, information literacy, and online communication. They will learn how to identify and avoid online threats, make responsible choices when sharing information, and use technology to promote positive social change.

    In addition, the course will provide opportunities for students to reflect on their own digital identities and consider how they can contribute to a positive digital culture. Students will also examine the role of digital citizenship in broader social and global contexts, including issues of equity, access, and representation.

    By the end of this course, students will have developed a strong foundation in digital citizenship and will be able to apply their knowledge and skills to their personal and professional lives. They will be equipped to engage with technology in a responsible and ethical manner, and to make positive contributions to the digital world.

    8th Grade - Digital Media

    The Digital Media course is designed to equip students with the technical skills and creative abilities necessary to create compelling digital content in a variety of formats. The course will provide an overview of the principles and techniques involved in digital media production, including graphic design, video production, audio production, and web design.

    Throughout the course, students will develop a working knowledge of digital media tools and software, as well as an understanding of how to apply design principles and visual storytelling techniques to create engaging content. They will explore the technical and aesthetic considerations involved in creating effective digital media projects, and learn how to plan, develop, and execute projects from start to finish.

    In addition, the course will provide opportunities for students to develop their critical thinking and communication skills by analyzing and critiquing digital media content. Students will also explore the ethical and social implications of digital media production, including issues of representation, access, and ownership.

    By the end of this course, students will have developed a portfolio of digital media projects that showcase their technical and creative abilities. They will also have a deeper understanding of the impact of digital media on society, and will be equipped to engage with digital media in an ethical and responsible manner.
