MY LIFEWow! It is hard to believe that I have been teaching for thirty years already. It seems like just yesterday that I graduated from Glassboro State College (Rowan University). I am so glad I worked on my Master's degree (Student Personnel Services) at Rowan University early in my career. Now I can focus on my passion- teaching and helping students love learning. I know that I have to keep up with the changing times, so I have taken many additional graduate classes, especially in the area of educational technology.
I grew up as a "military brat", living in several locations worldwide. My favorite place was the Netherlands, where I lived for four years. I used to speak Dutch fluently, but am a little out of practice. Because of my military background, I love learning about other cultures and ways of living. In the summer, I stay busy as the Horseback Riding Director at Tall Pines Day Camp in Williamstown. It is hard to believe I have been doing that job for the past 26 years.
Life outside of school keeps me very busy. I volunteer as a judge, along with many other roles, for FIRST Robotics in the FIRST Tech Challenge Program. Much of my time is devoted to my horse, Dewey, with the goal of improving our dressage skills. I also spend a great deal of time writing and painting, primarily for my work as a self-published author.
