• Parent Meetings regarding Kindergarten Bussing for the 2025-2026 school year

We will host two additional Zoom meetings to give parents an opportunity to ask questions and share any concerns about the upcoming changes to kindergarten busing for the 2025–2026 school year.

Currently, the district offers courtesy busing for all kindergarten students on buses designated exclusively for them. Beginning next year, kindergarten students who meet the transportation eligibility criteria outlined in district policy will ride the same buses as students in grades 1–5. This change is intended to streamline transportation by allowing families to manage a single bus schedule for all their elementary-aged children. Additionally, it will help reduce overall transportation costs and improve the district’s transportation efficiency rating, which is reported annually to the state.

The links for the two additional meetings are listed below.

    Dear Parents,

We hope this message finds you well. As part of our ongoing efforts to review and improve our practices, we are making an update to district Policy #8600-Student Transportation regarding the transportation of kindergarten students. This change will take effect in the 2025-2026 school year.

Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, we will no longer offer separate and courtesy busing for all kindergarten students. Instead, kindergarten students who meet the criteria for transportation according to district policy will be transported on the same buses as students in grades 1-5. This adjustment means parents will only need to manage one bus schedule for all of their elementary-aged children. Additionally, this change will help reduce transportation costs and improve the district’s transportation efficiency rating, which is reported yearly to the state.

We will continue to offer daycare pick-up and/or drop-off for kindergarten students at daycare centers, when possible. For more details regarding eligibility for this service, please visit our district website.

To address any questions or concerns you may have about this policy change, we have scheduled a Zoom meeting on March 27, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.. Please use the link below to join the meeting:

    Sincerely,
