Hello, my name is Ashley McMichael, and I am thrilled to be your child's fourth grade teacher this year! I graduated from Rowan University with Bachelor's Degrees in Elementary Education, Writing Arts, and American Studies. I am very proud to say that I recently graduated with my Master’s Degree from Rowan in teaching reading!

In room 107, I strive for a fun but productive learning environment. I feel that children learn best with hands-on activities, so I love to get them up and out of their seats as much as possible. We reenact stories, use hand motions for all reading strategies, and eager students come to the front of the class to be the "student teacher" when they know how to complete a math problem so well that they are able to teach others. When students want, they always have the option to stand at the front of the room to work on their public speaking skills when sharing their writing pieces.

On a personal note, ballet is a huge passion in my life and I have been dancing since I could walk. Traveling the world dancing ballet in my early adulthood opened my eyes and gave me so many wonderful travel experiences that I am thrilled to be able to share with your children. Traveling the world and teaching geography is a major passion of mine that your children are sure to hear a lot about this year. Currently, I teach ballet locally on the weekends to children ages 3-18.
