Hello Parents/Guardians,

I am very excited to have your child as one of my fabulous first grade students this school year! My name is Jackie Dougherty and I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with you and your child. This year will be packed full of learning experiences and fun adventures that no one will want to miss! I truly believe that teacher-parent communication is extremely important and I encourage you to contact me right away with any questions or concerns. I will be available by email or you can call the school and leave a message on my voicemail.

I would like to take a moment to ask you about your child. What interests them? What are their loves and passions? What can I incorporate into my teaching of any subject that would grab their attention? What ways does your child learn best? Do they play any sports? Dance? Do they have siblings? Do they collect anything? What are their general feelings about school?

I would like you to email me ASAP at dougherty@voorhees.k12.nj.us with any information you would like to share with me about your child that you feel I should know. The more I know about your child, the better I can reach them as a learner (and it gives me time to study up before September 5th!)  I have high expectations for the academic school year, and I am devoted to helping everyone succeed! I truly believe that all students are unique and capable of learning.
