Teacher Biography
My name is Tracey Rossi. I am married and have three children. My daughter is my oldest. I also have two sons. I really enjoy having a daughter and two sons. They are lots of fun. My daughter has graduated from Rutgers, and is substitute teaching at Kresson while she gets her graduate degree. She is also doing her student teaching this year at Osage Elementary School. My oldest son also graduated from Rutgers University. He works for a biotech company. My youngest is in his junior year at Rutgers. Yes, my husband and I are both Rutgers graduates. We really did let the kids choose where they wanted to go to college, believe it or not:)
I earned my Bachelors Degree from Rutgers University in 1990. Since then, I have earned a computer certification from Rowan University. I also earned my Master's Degree from Rider University. My Master's Degree is in Reading/Language Arts. I am a certified Teacher of Reading and Reading Specialist. I am also a Google Certified Educator.
I started teaching in 1990. I taught third grade at E.T. Hamilton School my first year. Then I spent the following year in a special education classroom. I taught first grade at Kresson School for 29 years. I really enjoyed first grade because the children showed so much growth from September to June. I enjoyed getting them excited about different authors that we studied, and encouraging their love of reading.
I spent three years teaching third grade at Kresson. Third grade is an adventure, and it is so neat to see how much the children have grown since first grade. I love the math skills children learn in third grade. It is enjoyable seeing how much third graders can do.
I am excited to be back in third grade again this year, where I can help encourage a love of reading with some of my favorite children's authors, love of writing with some skills I learned in a book study last year, and love of math with the cool skills we do in third grade like multiplication. Of course, we will also be learning some great things in Science and Social Studies, and maybe a sprinkle of cursive writing.
