Hello! My name is Alison Francolino, and this will be my 6th year teaching 2nd grade. This is my 19th year teaching here at Signal Hill, and I'm very excited to be here. For my first 2 years here, I taught fifth grade, and my old students know me as Ms. Bogardus. Then, I taught third grade for 3 fun years. Fourteen years ago, I delivered a beautiful baby girl and stayed home with her for the school year. When I returned, I taught fourth grade for a few years, and then I went back to teaching third grade for a little while. With all that being said, I know exactly what will be expected of my students in the future and will make sure that they are prepared.
Teaching is very important to me, and I love watching my students learn and grow. When I'm not teaching, I spend time with my family. My husband, who is my best friend, and I have been married for 18 years. My daughter, Michaela, is going to be a 9th grader this year. She is a creative, fun-loving kid, and I enjoy our adventures together. We also have a mini golden doodle named Frankie, who is full of energy and loves to cuddle. My family loves to look for shells on the beach, go to museums, botanical gardens, and travel. We have been to 30 different states and our goal is to visit all 50. We love exploring and learning about new places.
I was born and raised in Voorhees, and I attended school at Osage, VMS, and later Eastern High School. It was always my dream to work in my hometown, and I am very proud to be a teacher here in Voorhees. Being a teacher is an honor, and no matter what grade I teach, it is important to me that my students learn and are happy. I work hard to create engaging lessons where my students are excited about learning. It is always so rewarding to see my students grow and learn through the year.
This school year, I am really looking forward to teaching 2nd grade again! I know it is going to be a very interesting year, and full of surprises. I will meet the students outside where we line up for recess on September 5th. I will be there waiting for you. Don't worry. There will be a lot of helpful adults helping students find their way. See you on September 5th!!!
