A Little Bit About Me: This is my 26th year of teaching!! I have taught fourth grade for nineteen years, first grade for one year, and third grade for five years. I am very passionate about teaching and love my 4th graders! I am looking forward to an amazing 2023-24 school year. I am READY! Are YOU? Together we will learn to love LEARNING and take on any challenges we may face!
My Classroom: With so many changes in our world over the past few years, I have learned many new ways to stay connected and cannot wait to combine the "old way" of teaching with all of the "new ways". Some of my favorite subjects to teach are science, writing, and math! In science, we will learn about energy, waves, all different types of storms, and explore plants & animals. I also love to teach WRITING and will include writing in all subjects. In math, we will learn two and three-digit multiplication, long division, fractions, and geometry just to name a few! And for our historians, in fourth grade, we will tour the United States and learn about the 5 regions of our country. Fourth grade is a BIG year! It is the year that you will transition from "learning to read" to "READING to LEARN". We will spend the year expanding your knowledge and building on the knowledge you already have. We will also incorporate 21st Century Learning in the classroom in all subject areas. Technology is the tool that connects our classroom to the rest of the world. Technology will allow us to explore beyond the books and help us develop a better understanding of each topic we explore. It will help us learn about the great big world that is out there beyond Voorhees!
My Family: I have been married for twenty-five years, and we have two children: Madison and Tommy along with one dog: Blitzen. My family is everything to me. We love to vacation in Sea Isle City, and we also love to go tent camping where we can hike and white water raft. Going to Disney is also a family favorite...all you need is "faith, trust, and Pixie Dust". We also love to play games. This summer, some of our favorites were Sorry, Rumicub, Sequence, and Sushi Go. Now that summer is coming to an end, my children will be off to college. Madison is a second year Ph.D. student studying electrical engineering at Princeton University, and Tommy is a junior at TCNJ studying to be a history teacher.
I am so glad you stopped by, and I am ready for an amazing new journey...cannot wait for you to join ME!!!
