Illness in School

In the event a child becomes ill or has an accident of sufficient seriousness while in school, the child will be sent to the nurse.  Parents/guardians will be notified immediately.  All parents must provide an emergency back-up telephone number in the event they cannot be reached.

Policy on Medication

Medication will be administered to student in school provided:

• Medication is given to the nurse in its original container; brought to school by the parent.
• Medication is labeled with the student’s name and medication name.
• A note is provided giving directions for dose, time to be given, the purpose of medication, and termination date.
