• Special School Events

    Back-to-School Night:  Held in September; gives parents an opportunity to meet their child’s teacher and get a brief overview of the curriculum and classroom routines.

     

    Formal parent conferences are scheduled in November and December.  Sign-up sheets will be available on Back-to-School Night.  Parents are encouraged to call their child’s teacher whenever they have a question concerning their child.  Conferences are limited to 15 minutes.

     

    Student Photographs:  Individual photographs of our pupils are taken in October.  Parents receive them in November or December.  Parents are not obligated to purchase the photographs.  The price of the photographs depends upon the packet selected.

     

    Halloween Parade:  Students dress in costume and parade around the school.  Families are welcome to attend the parade.  Only assigned parents may attend the party.

     

    American Education Week (Classroom visits): In November parents may visit their child’s classroom during scheduled times.

    Art Expo:  Students’ artwork and special projects are displayed throughout the building.  It is held at night in conjunction with the Book Fair.  The entire community is invited to come and browse.

     

    Fall Concert:  A musical concert featuring students in Grades 1 & 2 is held at the Voorhees Middle School Theater.

     

    Winter Concert:  A musical concert featuring students in Grades 3 & 4 is held at the Voorhees Middle School Theater.

     

    Spring Concert:  A concert featuring the vocal talents of fifth grade students is performed at the Voorhees Middle School Theater.

     

    Field Day:  Coordinated by the gym teacher and support staff, Field Day offers a day of competitive fun.  A schedule of activities is distributed to encourage families to attend.
