My staff and I welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year.  The school has approximately 520 students with 65 staff members representing grades from Kindergarten to Fifth Grade.  The HPFA Parent Group provides extra resources to help serve our students.  This parental involvement is greatly appreciated and is crucial for the success of our students.

Our staff encourages character traits to support a caring learning environment each day.  In the past, E.T. Hamilton School had assemblies on bullying prevention, school safety, digital citizenship, and Veterans Day.  Presenters such as Assemblyman Louis Greenwald, former U. S. Congressman Robert Andrews, State Senator James Beach, Philadelphia Phillies great Cole Hamels, former Philadelphia Eagles players Jeremy Maclin and Vince Papale, Voorhees Mayor Michael Mignona, and veterans from our Hamilton School Community have all come to engage our students with a positive message.  These assemblies represent the importance of civic involvement and citizenship, showing our children how they can be an important part of our community. 

Caring educators that encourage students to be lifelong learners and good citizens best describe the faculty at Hamilton School.  The staff prides itself on creating a learning environment that is caring, safe, and challenging.  Student success requires a team effort, getting everyone involved to showcase a child's many gifts.  Every youngster has something to share.  The Hamilton Staff will ask your child to add to the school's positive environment.  

During the 2022-2023 school year, there will be training for the new social studies program from McGraw-Hill called “Impact Social Studies.”  This updated curriculum will focus on the new state curriculum social studies standards.  The classroom platform for social emotional learning called “Move This World” will also continue with teacher training to focus on students’ emotional needs.  This is the second year for “Move This World”, which is a video tutorial and lesson plan followed up by the classroom teachers having discussions with students each week.  The EnVision 2.0 Math Program is being updated to the newest version.  The 2020 math copyright will include new word problems and updated graphics which will be used on the cleartouch boards and student iPads.  

Students in grades K-5 will use the iReady Diagnostic Program to chart progress in language arts and mathematics.  This data is essential to offer extra help for students in need.  It will also assist teachers by giving them information to challenge children who have mastered specific curriculum standards.  Teachers will continue to instruct language arts skills with the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Journeys Literacy Reading Series.  The Fundations Phonics Program will be utilized in the kindergarten, first and second grades.

On a personal note, I am going into my twenty-fourth year in education, with the privilege of the last fourteen here in Voorhees Township.  I began my tenure on September 1, 2008 by spending my first four years as the seventh grade vice-principal at Voorhees Middle School.  I have been the principal of E.T. Hamilton School since July 1, 2012.  Previously, I served as a Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction in the Franklin Township Public Schools, where I taught elementary school from 2000-2007. I reside in Gloucester County with my wife, Roseann, and two children.  My son Matthew is in fifth grade and starting middle school this year.  My daughter Victoria is in third grade and beginning her journey in the intermediate elementary grades.

Together, we can make your child's educational experience something they will cherish for many years to come. I am very proud to be the principal of such a fantastic school given the distinguished teaching staff and the supportive parent partners in our community.
