The groundbreaking of Signal Hill School’s playground for its 3 - 6 year old students occurred Thursday, July 27, 2018. Superintendent Mr. Raymond J. Brosel, Jr., Assistant Superintendent for Business Dr. Frank DeBerardinis, Bldg & Grounds Director Mr. Clark Mathews, C.E.R. Coordinator Mr. Michael Redfearn, Signal Hill Parent Faculty Association President Mrs. Peachie Moore and Principal Sharon Stallings symbolically broke ground for the final phase of the playground where the initial stages of construction occurred this past Monday. Also in attendance were our district's Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Diane Young, Child Study Team Director, Dr. Elaine Hill, many preschool and other teachers and students along with other invited guests. Extensive planning over a two year period ensured that the 186 registered young students, many with special needs will benefit from this project. Funding was through the combined efforts of our parent group fund-raising, Community Education Recreation program, our district financing and a private donation. Completion will be in time for the opening of school in September, 2018.
