New Student Registration

According to Board of Education Policy 5111 all students who live in Voorhees Township with parents or a legal guardian shall be admitted to the Voorhees Public Schools without payment of tuition. Proof of residency and/or legal guardianship is required at registration by the administration.

VOORHEES TOWNSHIP PUBLIC SCHOOLS REGISTRATION FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. I have children currently attending the Voorhees Township Public School District, do I need to complete a registration packet to enroll another child? Yes. A parent or guardian must complete a registration packet and provide all required documents for each new student entering the district together with proof of residency.

2. How long does it take once registration is complete for my child to start school if they are transferring from another school/district once the school year has begun? After the Registration Office receives all your documents and registers your child, the registration packet is sent to the school where your child will attend. The school will review the information and determine a schedule/teacher assignment and request records from the prior school. This usually takes between two and four business days.

3. My child attended the Voorhees Township Public School District in the past. We then moved/transferred to another school. If we want to re-enroll in Voorhees School District, do we need to submit the registration documents again? Please contact the Registrar to see if your child is inactive in our system before filling out Open Registration. All required registration documents must be provided, including current proof of residency.

4. Can I request my child attend a specific school? No. Placement is based on your address of residence and the attendance boundaries of the Voorhees Township Public School District.

5. What is the required age for entry into kindergarten? Voorhees Township Public School District Board Policy currently states a child must be 5.0 years of age on or before October 1st. No exceptions will be made regarding this matter.

6. Is there a registration deadline? The Voorhees Township Public School District does not have a registration deadline and will enroll all students who reside within the District boundary and meet the registration requirements. We highly recommend you complete registration as soon as possible after you establish residency in the district.

7. I do not have a computer or Internet access. How can I enroll my child? Please call the Registration Office at 856-751-8446 ext. 6128 for assistance.

8. When will I know the school bus details for my child? For students eligible to receive school bus service (those who do not live within a walk zone), bus details will be provided to you from the Transportation department after the Registration process has been completed. 9. I'm moving to Voorhees during the summer. Can we still register our child to begin in September? Yes. Once you establish residency in Voorhees, complete the registration steps. Please do not begin the registration process until you have established residency in the School District of Voorhees Township. Please call the Registrar with any specific questions.

10. My child and I are living with my parents at their Voorhees Residence. What paperwork do I need to show my residency? You can register your child to the Voorhees Township Public School District if you live with the Voorhees resident. You will need to provide the following: ● Deed or Property taxes in the resident’s name ● Affidavit filled out by the resident ● Bill in the Resident’s name ● Bill and driving license with Voorhees address in your name

11. I am living with someone who recently leased an apartment in Voorhees. Can I register my child for the Voorhees Township School District? No, first you and your child need to be added to the official lease. When this is complete you can proceed with the school registration process.
