District Vision, Mission, and Goals

Voorhees Township Public Schools Mission Statement

The Voorhees Public School community values the varied and unique contributions, needs and experiences of its members.  While promoting an environment of respect among all people, it provides instructional delivery systems that nurture the potential of all students, giving them the ability to become successful adults. The Board of Education strongly upholds the expectation that all students will achieve the state standards at all grade levels.

DISTRICT GOALS FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

Purpose
District goals are established to ensure that our mission, to provide every student with a quality educational experience that prepares them to thrive in an ever-changing global society, is carried out with clarity and accountability.

The Voorhees Board of Education adopts goals by resolution to guide key initiatives, strengthen community partnerships, and improve student academic outcomes. These goals provide the Superintendent of Schools with clear priorities and benchmarks, while the Superintendent is responsible for monitoring progress and demonstrating results.

Goal 1: We are committed to providing every student with instruction that meets their individual learning needs. By June 2026, our goal is for 65% of 3rd graders, 71% of 4th graders, 65% of 5th graders, and 53% of 6th graders to meet their Typical Growth target in Mathematics, as measured by the i-Ready diagnostic. These targets reflect a 5% increase over the 2024–2025 school year. More than just numbers, these goals represent our belief that with the right support, every child has the ability to learn, grow, and thrive.

Goal 2: Our teachers are the heart of our schools, and we are dedicated to providing them with meaningful opportunities to learn and grow together. By June 2026, agendas for in-service sessions and Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings will be shaped by teacher feedback and aligned to curriculum and instructional priorities. Our goal is for 75% of in-service surveys to show that teachers find their professional development relevant and useful in their daily work because empowered teachers inspire empowered students.

Goal 3: Strong schools are built on strong partnerships with families and the community. By June 2026, we will strengthen the clarity, consistency, and accessibility of our communication across multiple channels. Our goal is to reach 80% satisfaction with communication effectiveness, as measured through surveys following five district-wide events. Clear, timely, and engaging communication ensures that every family feels informed, valued, and connected to their child’s education.

Goal 4: We are committed to helping students become confident, responsible, and safe digital learners. By June 2026, all students in grades 3–8 will take part in lessons that teach age-appropriate online safety and critical thinking skills to identify misinformation. Each student will complete a grade-level project that demonstrates what they have learned about staying safe online and evaluating information. These projects will be connected to the regular curriculum so that technology learning is meaningful and fully integrated into classroom instruction.
