Voorhees Township Schools offers an Enrichment Program in each elementary school, with a full-time enrichment teacher in each. The Enrichment Program has two basic components with activities for students in grades K to 5.
Sparks Groups Grades 2- 5
Students with particular academic strengths may be recommended by classroom teachers to work on extending these skills with the enrichment teacher. Students may also qualify for Sparks services through certain assessment criteria. Student participation in a particular Sparks Group may or may not mean participation in a different Sparks Group. For example, a student who participates in a math Sparks Group may not be recommended for participation into a literacy Sparks Group.
Academically talented students are identified in grades K through 5. Those who qualify through standardized test scores, content area proficiency, creativity, and teacher recommendation are serviced through a weekly pull-out program of up to two hours in the elementary schools.
Services for K-2 students begin in January, while services for 3-5 students begin in September.
Enrichment services may also include whole group instruction, high interest group instruction, or academic competition instruction.
Please keep in mind that identification and participation in this program in the younger grades does not necessarily guarantee placement in the Enrichment Program in subsequent years. As the identification process necessitates a re-evaluation of all students each year, participating students are expected to remain in the top 15% of their grade level in order to continue in the program for the following year.

In Voorhees Middle School qualifying sixth-grade students rotate through three related arts cycles in technology education, computers, and vocal music. Seventh-grade students take technology education, music, and World Language. Eighth-grade students are offered high school level algebra I, Spanish I, and accelerated art.
Questions concerning the Enrichment Program in each school should be directed to the school principal.
