To help ensure that the data governance program addresses organizational needs, it is necessary to clearly specify the “rules of engagement,” or policies and standards that guide data governance program implementation. These include vision and goals of the organization regarding data standards, data management processes, decision-making jurisdiction, responsibilities, enforcement and controls. Our data governance approach is consistent with the district’s overall mission and stakeholders’ expectations. Program goals are clearly stated and address data content needs, measurement of progress, identification of successful outcomes, and needs for the long-term sustainability of necessary levels of data quality and security over the entire data lifecycle.
