Toni Morrison was born February 18, 1931 in Lorain, Ohio. She was the second oldest of four siblings. Her parents’ names were George and Ramah Wofford. Her father George Wofford, worked primarily as a welder, but held several jobs at once to support their family. Her mother Ramah was a domestic worker. Living in an integrated neighborhood, Morrison did not become fully aware of racial divisions until she was in her teens. Later on in her life Toni Morrison went to Lorain High School and Cornell University.
Toni Morrison is now famous for writing, editing, playwriting and being a literary critic. Her career started when she was working for a textbook publisher as a senior editor. Later on she got married to a gentleman named Harold Morrison. He later left her when she had her first child. She also had another child in Ohio. Toni Morrison is still living to this day. Now she is a famous book writer. Her most famous book is called The Bluest Eye. What famous African American would you write about?
