About Mr. Kosyla
Mr. Kosyla is a graduate of Glassboro State College (now Rowan University). Teaching is Mr. Kosyla's third career: after graduating college, he quickly advanced in his career in banking, eventually serving as the President of a local savings bank. In 1993, Mr. Kosyla entered the private business world and was the president of a management corporation which oversaw the daily operations of retail stores in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and California. Mr. Kosyla returned to his love of teaching in 2003, instructing both Algebra and Social Studies classes. Now in his 15th year of teaching, he teaches only Social Studies, sharing his passion for history with eighth grade students.
In addition to his career achievements, Mr. Kosyla has remained an active member of the Voorhees community. A graduate of Eastern Regional High School, Mr. Kosyla was honored with inductions to the Eastern High School Hall of Fame (1991) and the South Jersey Soccer Hall of Fame (2004). From 2001 - 2006, he served as a member of the Board of Education for Eastern Regional High School. His summer soccer camp through Voorhees Community Education and Recreation (C.E.R.) is now entering its forty first year, and is the longest consecutive-running soccer camp in the state of New Jersey. He is also the Director of the C.E.R. All-Sports Camp, run during the summer on an annual basis. Mr. Kosyla currently trains several teams for Voorhees Soccer Association and coaches at both VMS and Eastern Regional High School. As the head coach of Eastern's Boys Varsity Soccer Team since 2007, his current coaching record stands at 126 wins 58 losses 25 ties.
Mr. Kosyla resides in Voorhees with his wife Lori and three children, Christina, Ryan, and Jenna, all graduates of Voorhees public schools.
