    Multiplying decimals
    • Begin by counting the number of decimal places in the problem. There are two decimal places: 1 and 4.
    • Now multiply the numbers as if they were whole numbers, while ignoring the decimals.
    • When finished multiplying, add your decimal point back in depending on the number of decimal places you have in the problem. For this example, there were two decimal places, so the answer will have two decimal places.
