    About the Assignment 
    Current event topics may be related to local, regional, national, or global issues. Assignment will count as one quiz grade.
     
    Specific Requirements 
     
    The current event assignment consists of four sections:
    1. Cover page. (Download example in PDF here.)
    2. Copy of the article. You can print this directly from the website, or clipped from the paper source (i.e. magazine, newspaper, etc.)
    3. Summary of the article. Summary must be in your own words and at least one full page. Students are strongly encouraged to type this assignment. (See details below for typed requirements.)
    4. Opinion of the article. This must be in your own words, at least one page in length. Students are strongly encouraged to type this assignment. (See details below for typed requirements.)   
     
    Typed Requirements
    Typed assignments should be in either Times New Roman or Comic Sans font, size 12, and double-spaced. 
     
    An Important Note About Turning in Work 
    Current Event Reports are NOT to be emailed. Should students experience difficulty in printing their assignment, it should be brought to school on a flash drive and printed at the library.
