Preschool education consists of specially designed educational experiences to stimulate, assist, support and sustain emergent skills before entering kindergarten. Preschool classes provide a wide range of developmentally appropriate experiences that young children need to be successful in school. The earliest years of schooling can promote a positive developmental experience that fosters independence and encourages the uniqueness of each child.
The Voorhees Township Schools offer an inclusive Preschool program that is housed at Signal Hill. In addition to three Preschool Disabilities classes, there are also four Preschool classrooms of three and four year olds. These classes are fully inclusive, with both typical and special needs students working and playing together, Parents enter their children in a district-wide lottery in the spring for placement in this very unique program.
