Educational Technology Overview
Use of information technology resources begins in kindergarten and continues through eighth grade. Students use technology and the Internet as instructional tools for meeting curriculum goals in all academic content areas, as well as for the development of their own technology literacy skills. Computers are used in classrooms, in computer labs and libraries. Access is available anywhere else in the school via wireless technology for any on-line resources such as the Internet.
Teachers provide computer assisted instruction and integrate technology resources in e-Learning activities across all subject areas. Students learn during specified Information Technology Literacy classes as well as during other subject areas. A technology specialist assists teachers and instructs students at each elementary school, while three are responsible for meeting these needs at
The district web site features comprehensive information about the school district, as well as job postings and cafeteria menus. It also provides links to each schools web site, providing school-based information as well as many individual student and teacher constructed web pages.
The administration and staff use a variety of technology resources on a regular basis in order to effectively manage and report student information, as well as to enhance their ability to be efficient and productive in their jobs.
