Signal Hill Parent Faculty Association

SHPFA

The Signal Hill Parent Faculty Association (SHPFA) is an organization comprised of parents, teachers, and administrators that work together to maximize the academic experience for all students at Signal Hill School. SHPFAs purpose is to facilitate cooperation between parents and teachers in the education of their children. The organization strives to meet this challenge by:

  • promoting a positive communication system between home and school
  • promoting a sense of community through social activities
  • generating money through fundraising for the purpose of purchasing equipment, etc. that will enhance our childrens academic experience
  • providing a forum for communicating with the Board of Education

SHPFA has scheduled the following meetings for the 2012-2013 school year:

Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

March 12, 2013 - BOE 2013-2014 Budget Presentation at 7:30 p.m.

May 28, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

These meetings provide an opportunity for parents to learn about the important issues facing our school and the many activities that take place at Signal Hill.

Membership

Membership in SHPFA is open to all faculty and families of Signal Hill School students. Membership forms are distributed in September and will be available at general meetings as well as Back to School Nights. Membership dues are $7.00 per family and faculty member. Membership allows you to become an active participant in SHPFA, allows you to join a committee, and allows you a voting voice. A family membership allows two members of the household to vote.

SHPFA Activities

SHPFA sponsors many events during the year, some to raise money, and others to promote community spirit.  See above for event dates.
