All About Our LMC

Mrs. Trudy Lockspeiser, Library Media Specialist

 
The Kresson Library Media Center is staffed by a full time libray media specialist, Mrs. Trudy Lockspeiser and a large contingent of parent volunteers. Our major goal is to help students become lifelong readers and locate information as they need it. We use both print and non-print sources to achieve this goal. There are a combined total of over 12,000 books and AVA resources available for both students and staff. Our staff consists of over 50 members and there are appoximately 360 students in our K-5 school. The LMC presently has nine computers for student use capable of accessing the internet. Four of these computer are primarily used to access our automated catalog and the internet through WebPath Express. We use Follett Destiny to manage our LMC.
Students come to the LMC for a 30 minute fixed period each week and may use the facilities at any other time. Teachers schedule times to bring their class to the LMC for collaborative instruction.
